I walk 5 miles ea day for the last 18 months and have lost 72lbs…Feel better than ever, diabetes is diet/exercise controlled and A1C is great. I really enjoy taking care of myself and after all, I am so worth it…

WOW MewElla…5 miles everyday!!! How long does that take you? How about in the winter? I am so impressed with you!!!! I admire your motivation and your loss of 72 pounds is super impressive! Keep up the good work. You are a great inspiration to me!

I hope to report the same some day soon. I just started to see the wisdom in exercise and proper eating habits. I personally don't think diets work that well because once you quit you gain more thatn you lose, so yes exercise and eating in moderation is the way for me too.

I walk 3.5 miles every night on my treadmill. Put a movie in the DVD player in my computer and away I go. Walk at 2.3 miles per hour. Plus all the walking I do at work average anywhere from 10 to 15 miles a day. My motavation is hoping to see my granddaughter graduate from high school and maybe college if I live that long.

thanks Roy…I appreciate your response very much. I am trying hard to motivate myself. I just dont love exercising… but i have been doing it anyway and seeing excellent BS as a result.

I don't love exercising either but I have been doing it for so long now it has become a habit. Just something that has to be done. I've lost 85 pounds and lower my cholesterol so it has help me health wise and it keeps my BS levels down.

i have a video that lets you walk in place,, fast pace. i have to hold on a chair to do it,, but it makes me feel great and lose some pounds,, espeically if i dont want to go out and walk,,

Thanks for your response! Videos are a great idea. I used to enjoy them so much. Maybe I should try to get back into them. Have you seen my latest post about insulin reactions?

i have how important it is exersise the easy .and how much better you feel when you do.after you exersise think about what you have just done. you will see how good it makes you feelabout yourself. i do.

Thanks Berrykins. I've been pretty good with exercise over the past few days. I did 35 mins on the treadmill this morning and felt very good about it. I will do it again tomorrow! I hope I can keep this up!

I am a hit and miss exerciser i do it for a long time the i stop then i start again i like the sweating to the oldies i did that forever then stop got tried of it i then love the walk 1 2 3 mile i did that i tend to find something i want to do and burn myself out of it right now no i don't exercise but i am think about doing the walk 1 2 3 mile thing again i finely figured out the dvd player with the new flat screen lol

I know what you mean about getting tired of the DVD's. I used to take all different ones out of the library so that I'd have some variety. Hmmm…maybe I should try that again. Thanks so much for your response.

I will go read your blog but just wanted to say I love to walk. I have been walking for 20 years, it is part of my life now. I really want to start a strength training program now.

Great! Will you buy weights or use bands? I definitely need to start using weights. I've been noticing that my triceps seems to be hanging a bit closer to the floor ever day. Let me know how you do with it.
