Artifical Sugars

I have a real hard time with artificial sugars. I can not drink any of them or I end up sick. I can use the splenda half and half to cook with and I am fine. I eat very healthy and drink reg soda or ice tea, but mainly water. Does anyone else have this problem? Does anyone have any ideas.

I stay with Splenda and Sweet Leaf (Stevia). I will not consume anything with saccharin, aspartame, and a few others I can't remember.

Yikes artificial sugars are horrible and dangerous!!! When I want something a tad sweeter then bland water I find adding lime to ice cold water and a little orange squeeze helps, plus I want to flood out as many FAT cells and speed up the sluggish metabolism.

Hi Lynette, I am sure that others will weigh in with some suggestions, but I wanted to share that I also have had severe problems with my reactions to artificial sweeteners. I have managed to avoid them for years and I guess that if you are like me, we can taste them after a single sip of something that contains anything other than natural sugar. I generally stay away from sweetened soft drinks in favor of water or seltzer. I have been trying to use Stevia sweeteners in coffee and I drink my tea unsweetened. The Stevia based sweeteners don't taste quite as bed as the others, but you need watch out for those that contain some form of alcohol sugars like Truvia and try and find pure or nearly pure Stevia. Again, I am sure there will be others aho know more about this than I currently do, but for now I can only suggest more water and less flavored drinks. It moy be boring, but it may also save our lives.

Thank you for for ideas. The doc's told me to drink seltzer water, club soda ( which is really bitter) and ginger ale. I can use the splenda packets in my ice tea or strawberry lemonade, which i make myself, since i add what i want. My sugar levels and b/p is good. I'll have to try the seltzer water ot ginger ale.
