I saw a video recently promoting using natural ways to control diabetes using cinnamon (somehow!). Before purchasing anything, I wondered if anyone else has done this and/or if it worked. Any feedback would be appreciated. (It's only $20 so not a BIG investment.)

Howdy Signer WELCOME to DC!
The jury is still out on the issue of cinnamon being a good control for Diabetes.
It seems to work for some but not for others. There's been a lot of discussion about Cinnamon over the years here on DC. Here is a readout of all the discussions which have mentioned it in the title or the original posting: You can "Mine" that if you wish for what has been said about it. But ULTIMATELY you must try it to see if you are one of those who will respond favorably to it or not.

I use a natural way to control my diabetes. I control my diabetes by what I eat, no diabetes meds at all. I eat/drink a low carb. high protein menu with low glycemic veggies and a few low glycemic fruits. I've been keeping my BG numbers close to the "normal" range. My may 2011 A1c is 5.5, and I have dropped about 40 lbs in 6 months. That I believe is a natural way of controlling it. Not everyone can do what I have done without meds. But one's menu is a BIG part of keeping one's Diabetes under better control. i wish I had gotten serious about my menu plan a lot sooner. I would have avoided a lot of pain and expense.

Praying you soon have success in gaining control of your diabetes.

I purchased cinnamon in a capsule form and used it for about 4 months (just enough time to get my next AIC levels checked) and it didn't make any difference whatsoever. I'm not sure how long you have to take it to see a result. What I didn't like what an after taste of cinnamon occasionally when I'd take a pill.
