A friend suggested I check out the site. What do you do here.?
I have had diabetes for 26 years. It has been under controllfor most of the time. This past year, it has gone haywire going up to the 300's and down to 50's.
I haven't changed anything that I know of..same meds

check your monitor and make sure it is working properly.
sometimes as we get older, our bodies change and we don't realize it

Welcome. This site has discussions on every topic you can think of. If you don't see what you are looking for, you can start your own discussion. Perhaps there has been added stress that may effect your readings, or an illness or infection. I have found that making subtle changes in my diet has kept my numbers under control. The members of this community are very helpful and provide encouragement. Good luck, and welcome

Howdy Ralph! Welcome to DC! Your friend has good taste IMO. Has you as a friend, and has suggested this site to you!

As to what we do here, we offer support, encouragement, and share information with People with Diabetes, and anyone else who is interested. We are a motley assortment of people who are trying to walk the walk of controlling our Diabetes.

As to your question about going haywire, sometimes as we age our bodies change and what kept us controlled in the past no longer works, and we have to find a different way to control our Blood Glucose. OR, it could be that your volume or things which you eat or drink has changed.

Again, welcome! And praying that you get your haywire problem figured out..
