I AM SO CONFUSED…I CAN EAT A MED. ORANGE…APPLE…CRANBERRIES…ETC. AND MY SUGAR MAY ONLY REACT UPWARDS 5 TO 10 POINTS…BUT IF I DRINK A SMALL JUICE GLASS OF NO SUGAR OR ADDED SUGAR OR FRESH SQUEEZED JUICE DONE I N MY OWN KITCHEN , MY SUGAR CAN JUMP BY 50 TO 70 POINTS…NOW ! WHATS GOING ON ? I AM AT A LOSS TO EXPLAIN WHAT ' S THE TRIGGER HERE ! ANY SUGGESTIONS ?

rule of thumb, eat your fruit do not drink it. It is pure sugar by then!
I read many "juice" I personally do not. When I kinda crave OJ, I just suck on a orange slice and pow my sugar flies off the charts, Weird because when in the hospital on a diebetic diet they served ok- go figure
you know , as i now recall , when i was last in the hospital…sure enought ! there was that little plastic juice container…why do i recall it…when i tried to peel that dang , cover off it…yep ! dumped it right in my lap !!!…then they wonder why we get confused…serving a trigger , like o.j. !!
i drink low carb juice. these have very little juice in the and they contain spenda.i prefere these over no sugar added juices. i drink 4oz in the moring and 4oz milk in the moring for breakfast.
Juice is out for me. Remember a small serving6oz juice is equal to eating a large orange. I can eat most fruit without much affect to my bg. I can not eat grapes or
grapefruit these take by bg. up in a big way. Everyone is different all you can do is
try different things one at a time and see how your body reacts.
I cant have any fruit or juice,I learned the hard way.
i am happy to know others noticed this problem…thought i had a weird system , or something…thanks jayabee…your reply is a logical reason…the fiber take longer to get into the system…juice is reduced of most of the fiber…now , it's so clear…duh !!!!
I most certainly didn't intend for you to feel a "duh" moment, Brenda. I'm glad you were smart enough to get it, and also smart enough to actually ask a question like this. It helps us all, because who knows how many in DC land had noted this but never stuck their neck out to ask the question. I myself learned this a while ago when someone else asked a similar question. Just tryin to "pay it forward". Blessings to you and yours
James
thanks , my friend…hope someday i may be able to help you in some way
people have helped me both virtually here on DC, and in the real world. Just pay it forward to the next person who can use the help. Thank you Raindancer!
That is not amazing to me because the fruits have fiber in them where the juices do not. The fiber tends to counteract the carbs in the juices. If you have to consume fruiit is always better to eat it than drink it unless you are wanting to correct a low glucose reading.
That is strange. I can have like a orange section, a small piece of Mellon. Any more than that and yes even no sugar added juice and my numbers go ballistic!!!
