Today outside a convenience store I observed a young man get out of his car and when arriving at the door of the store an elderly man with a very hunched back and a cane came up at the same time; the young man greeted the elderly man and held the door for him and then for another elderly person entering the store.
So there are yet many of the younger generation who have been taught respect and courtesy for others! Just another act of Random Kindness…have you noticed any lately?

It is great to young people being helpful and courteous. I see a lot of this when I take the bus. The only time there seems to be a problem is with the teenagers on the bus. They let everyone stand that is old or disabled.

This is such a great discussion!
I notice them (acts of kindness by youngsters) daily, and I practice it as well.
I have taught my sons that the little time that it takes to be kind leaves a lasting imprint on the mind of the receiver as well as the giver.

That is wonderful to know that there are still some kind hearted people in this world. That is why I always try to teach my kids to be nice to people and repect their elders. Sometimes the things we think are so small means a lot to the next person.

There are kind and generous people out there. I live in a semi rural area and find the
young people always showing respect in actions . Recently our churches asked for
youth volunteers to help with yarn and garden work for the elderly. Nearly 100 jr
high and high school students turned out to led a hand.
Thanks for sharing your story.

How nice…I do appreciate it when I see a younger person being courteous. It doesn't happen nearly enough any more. The other day I was entering a fast food place (using my cane) and a small group of Boy Scouts (BOY SCOUTS, older boys, in full uniforn) pushed their way out the door, nearly knocking me over in the process. A staff person from the restaurant hurried over and held the door open for me. What is the world coming to??

Once upon a time that would have been the norm and we would have taken it for granted and thought very little about it. But with the way the world and the young are now a days it is such a rare thing to see it makes a talking point of surprise that we witness something like that. What a shame the world had gone to rack and ruin. Now I'm going to sound like my parents and a lot of the older generation who constantly say "In the good old days when I was a wee girl things were different etc." It is such a shame that, that behaviour is dying out it's what made our world a good place to live in. It now just seems to be all about violence and aggression. So I have to agree with jayabee52 and say thank you for sharing that with us.

That is refreshing. There are kind people out there. Unfortunately most of the times we only see the ones who are rude and nasty. Thanks for sharing.
