Would like to know if anyone has tried any kind of supplements that help with diabetic neuropathy. I have lost some of the sensitivity in my hands. When I run my hands over my skin and hair it "feels" silky smooth but it is because I'm not feeling things as I used to.
Any advice?

I use Alpha Lipolic Acid (ALA) 200 mg !x / day. I keep my Blood Glucose readings close to "Normal" range, and also have been prescribed Nortryptelene, an anti depression med. to try to combat the burning Diabetic Neuropathy I feel from knees to toes.

By itself, Nortryptelene, wasn't reducing the pain. But the ALA and near normal BGs are seeming to reduce the pain.

Thanks for the advice. I'd been looking into the ALA but not sure how it will work since I'm on 40 units of Lantus insulin. My Dr. isn't keen on supplements.

my doc recently put me on Cymbalta which was originally designed for diabetic neuropathy - only problem I am having is horrific constipation!

did you have diabetic neuropathy or was it for Depression? I was on Cymbalta and went off before I was diagnosed.
