What are Trigger foods? Trigger foods are the foods that no matter how much you eat, no matter how much medicine you take, will always make your blood sugar go extremely high. My trigger food is honey. I can't eat anything that has honey in it. We found that out early in my diabetic life.

I don't know if this can be considered a trigger food, but every morning after I have my coffee (nutrasweet and halfnhalf added) my bs goes up. Maybe it's the nutrasweet or the halfnhalf causing it to spike.

Donuts, for sure. I can eat straight sugar and it won't do me in like a donut- even a small one.
