A Type 1 friend of mine who was having dangerously low BG's said that his Joslin endo suggested he run high sugars for a couple of weeks to become resensitised to seeing the low's coming. Anyone out there hear any suggestions like this? I'm also a type 1 and have been experiencing lows on too many occasions.

I have heard that your body will adjust to what it thinks is normal for you, but not that you could resensitize your hypo- awareness. I question that it could be that simple for everyone. I would love to have my early warning system back in check, but my Endo says thats not likely to happen, given my variables. I will talk to him on the 21st about what you and I discussed-mainly using Lantus-to help avoid these pesky lows but I dont know that I can do the low carb thing long-term. So youre still having lows? Are you going to try what was suggested?
