Howdy all, I have #2. I am taking 2 1000MG every day, about a year now. I am just learning how to take care of this (well, trying too). I used to drink around 3 to 4 cokes a day, lov fried food, chips, american frys, cheeseburgers with BACON. but I have gone cold turkey… AURGGGG. I have always drinked alot of water each day. My question is::::: Green tea, Is it good for me (or you)? Also about seafood, Is Shrinp Scampy, Crab legs, Oysters, ect. Good for ya? I have also noticed that, My belly has gotton smaller and I have been feeling better with-my-self.. seince I have stopped all of the COKES.. I know that I am asking a bunch of questions… Here is another one::: Is cooking outside on the grill better? Lov my ribs, chicken, fish, but just want to know how to cook it. One more::: Is STRESS bad for diabets?

As my stress has been dropping so has my BG. My Dr. said stress is blamed for a lot of problems. I think he didn't want me to use it as an excuse for causing more of a problem than other factors that cause BG problems - like eating the wrong foods, etc.

GREAT INFO GUYS & GALS :-) Thanks, I got a great deal of stress in my relationship, AND IT ABOUT TO CHANGE.. Going to spend some time in the Smokies to find myself and do some Fly Fishing (trout) metel detecting, and just quite evenings setting and gazzing into the camp fire. Got some Green Tea and maybe alittle Brandy every-now-and-then.. Makes the body feel good. LOL Hope to have a few Brookies,Browns,Rainbows to try out.

This time of year I cook everything on the grill like last night had haddock and veg's all cooked on the grill. The only with seafood some is high in sodium . Love green tea. Oh yeah stress is bad all the way around.

I would add trying to get at least 8 hours a sleep. When I don't, my levels stay up most of the day (like today). But I've found getting at least 8 hours has helped me keep the levels in better control AND its good for stress ;)

Hi and welcome!!
Don'tcha love not eating and drinking all that nasty stuff??!! I miss lotsa those things too, but I do feel lots better when I don't eat them.
Good on the water-it's the best, and green tea has lots of anti-oxidents, too!
Can't tell you about the seafood, I am terribly allergic-no one like me if I eat seafood, or avocado, for that matter!
And yes, stress will screw with your BG levels, I can tell you that! In fact, I am the poster girl for stress effects. Just ask my doctor!
I don't have any websites to give you (sorry), just lots of trial and error experience, all of us here do, we are all learning as we go, so ask away, someone has the answer, or can find it out! Whether its a website to go to, or just someone's experience, it's all very helpful :)

Welcome to the family!

To answer your questions (I'm no expert but here goes),
1) Green Tea is very good for you:

2) Seafood is very nutritious for you:

3) Cooking on a grill (indoors or out) can be good for you if you follow the necessary guidelines:

4) Stress and Diabetes together are very harmful to you:
(Stress raises your blood glucose level, as well as damages your organs)

I hope that some of your questions have been answered.
Remember, it's not the number of questions that are asked, but rather the amount of answers that you get when asking the question!

Once again, "Welcome to the family!"
