I take the Lisinopril and carvedilol for the last two months. I checked my blood pressure today. It was 125/64. It used to be 197/98. I cut out as much salt as possible. I use Mrs. Dash seasonings now. They are pretty good. I used to eat alot of fast food as I was on the go all the time. now I try to prepare food at home and eat more veggies but I atribute my BP dropping by cutting out the salt.

for starters be careful my docotrs told me the same about my kidneys but they only checked creatinine level and not the protein spilled in your urine, ask to see a specialist for your kidneys, as far as high blood pressure goes good control and very low sodium…watch that salt in your diet hope this helps

from my personal experience as a nurse and my own high blood pressure, diet seemed to do more than the medications in the beginning. I do think medications take aas much as 2 weeks to build up in your system. Many of the never medications take longer to bring down your Blood pressure. Also I know losing weight, decreasing stress and changing your diet can and will lend a hand in the decrease.

Too much caffeine can add to your high blood pressure as well as worry over other health issues. Diabetics with the extremes of high blood pressure systolic [bottom number] being greater than 100 cause for greater concern. Try getting more rest and a good nights sleep, decrease caffeine intake and watch your diet by adding higher fiber choices and cut out or greatly decrease amount of alcohol and cigarettes IF you do either. Keep your MD informed as it often takes several tries to find a medication combination that works for you. We are not all the same and some medications do not work well together. I wish you well, have patience and do what you can to decrease the stress with diet and exercise…give it a couple weeks.

I do not take that. I take Benicar40 mg.
My BP has been at 120/80 for the past 6 months.
I did have a medication allergy and my BP dropped and I past out, but that is a different post.
