Well I feel like crap sugar headache, tight turning tummy, Just plain crummy.
my readings only went up to 135 but ive been eating so well I guess the brownie mix just didnt sit well with me. Its not worth this feeling for a little food fun. I would never thought i would feel this way I LOVE me some brownies, not now!!!

Sweet is no treat. After years of eating almost completely sugar free I find that even small bites of desserts that contain sugar have an over powering sweetness that is nauseating. Did they change the taste? lol :D

Quite often it is our taste buds that change.

I used to love ham, but since I have been eating low salt, ham tastes really salty now. And if I happen to nibble on a piece of unsweetened breakfast cereal I wonder why I used to put sweetener on it. It is amazing how our taste buds change over the years.

I eat my cereal without any sweetener and with plain unsweetened almond milk. It tastes good just as it is. I like using herbs and spices and salt only at the very minimum. I was raised on white bread but switched to whole wheat after I got married. Not for health reasons but because it tastes like about 1000 times better.

Yep; I know what you mean> I had acinnamon roll for brkfst, bad idea. I guess we just have to adjust to being careful at all times.

I like to think that my palate has evolved with diabetes. Twinkies now make me gag! I did recently fall off the wagon with a whole-bellied fried clam binge at a buffet but vow I WILL NEVER EAT THEM AGAIN! To eat…I mean to err is human?

Like Dev I did the same thing with a donut. Someone brought them in to work a few months back and I picked up my old fav chocolate covered glazed, and gobbled it down before I could stop myself. I felt so sick from the sugar rush, I think I am cured of donuts now.

It is funny how when we get rid of a lot of the junk we used to "love" that we lose our taste for it. That happened to me with sodas, fast food and even pizza. I get cravings for those things and think it will taste so good and it tastes so bad. I'm glad in a way, it keeps me from eating too much of it.

That happens to me with donuts. I feel like eating donuts then I decide to indulge but everything after the first bite feels like torture.

Diabetes really can do a number on our old "familiar food." Probably we have all experienced this at some time, but for me, "done that, not going back there again. Just not worth feeling totally lousy…Or as some would say " this is a learning curve for us all…

Interesting, Jodi!
How quickly our tastes can change! I'm sorry you're feeling lousy, but this is good to get weaned off of high carb foods.
