Spoiled Myself Today

I've been on Novolog for about a month or so to get my highs in line. I haven't used it, until today, to enjoy something I hadn't eaten in ages.

Today I treated myself to a Big Mac and small fries. Oh was it good!

Of course, I took out the center bread and didn't eat half the fries and the sandwich wasn't completely eaten either. I figured a 1:15 ratio and took 5 units. I was 152 before eating so doubt I took too much to crash, but cover the sandwich and the high.

I vow not to do this very often, but man was it nice.

Glad you spoiled yourself and then had a BG reading that showed that you are doing good at figuring out your ratio. Some days you just need to give into the craving.

I love fries if they are covered with cheese, real bacon bits and have some Ranch dressing on the side! A burger does sound good tho!

I'm a 1/4 pounder gal myself, and I pick away at most of the bun till all thats left is whats on the burger itself and nothing surrounding it! That and a few fries and I'm a happy girl!!
And not very often, but when the craving strikes, nothing else will do!

OMG you ate that nasty stuff oooooooooooooooo
I havent ben able to eat that food for over 13 years I just cant make myself eat it lol If I was going to eat that typ of carbs Stake & Shake would have ben my choice

If you have your Blood glucose under good control why not every now and again?

But when I eat a burger from a fast food place I forgo the fries altogether (order the burger only) and I order the burger without ketchup or any sauces so I don't get the sugar or carbs in those sauces. (it's also not as messy to eat) Then I discard the top of the bun (which is the largest part of the bun) and just eat it with the lettuce and tomato on the top together with bottom of the bun. I avoid eating at a burger joint whenever I can, but sometimes I just cannot avoid it.

I am not a huge fry eater, never have been. I usually only have about 5 or 6 actually. I always scraped off half the junk they put on it, so I'm sure it was a ton less than 45 carbs by the time I got done. Gotta do my 2 hour check in 30 minutes. Will let you know. So far the 1:15 ratio prior to eating has worked for me and most times I hardly get even close to 30 carbs a meal!!
