I have a problem with a burning mouth. I made an appointement with an and for the first time and I have diabetis for years. I was told meds can give you try mouth. Taking meds for reflux for a long time is also not good for your system maybe should try some other natural remedis.

My dentist recommended using one of the special toothpastes for dry mouth, drinking more water, and keeping my sugar levels under control. These combined efforts have really helped me. Meds do sometimes cause dry mouth, and if yours is really bad, there's also something called MI Paste that you can probably get from your dentist. You just put a little on your finger and rub it on your gums a couple times a day…it's great…it really relieves the dry mouth.

I had dry mouth terrable before I got my blood sugar under control. I would carry a bottle of water with me everywhere I went. I would fill the bottle half full of watr and freeze it, then fill it the rest of the way up with more water, it would stay cold longer that way. Now that my blood sugar numbers are better, I don't have a problem with dry mouth much any more.

Howdy Fuzo, WELCOME to DC!
I use regular sugarfree gum to stop my dry mouth. But there is a couple of products which are supposed to take care of it. A gum and a mouthwash, both are under the brnd name "Biotene".

Walmart carries this, cost a bit more than I would want to spend though.

As I said before I chew sugarfree gum that I get a 4 pack (20 sticks) for $1. at Dollar stores or 99 cents only stores. That works fine for me and keeps my mouth moist with saliva.

I use Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash and I myself have hypertension, diebetic, but I have an ucler. It is the best I have found and I have tried many items. Also make sure you drink plenty of water. I notice it is worse when I drink a soda (which is a rare, I do not do sodas) and also alcohol drinks.
Hope this is helpful.

There are special mouth rinses for this and although at one time it was hard to find, I even saw them in Target the other day. Talk to a pharmacist if you cannot find it. They work fairly good, I know because my Dad needed it when he was taking chemo.
