Listen to your Body when Exercising!!

If you have trouble standing, sit and exercise. Many people can work up a good sweat while sitting and listening to some fast upbeat music.
Go easy on yourself if you don't feel up to par. Only exercise if you feel like it and have the stamina to do it.
Ease back when you struggle with the exercise- you may be overexerting.
To speed up your walking pace, take more strides, not longer ones. It becomes more efficient.
Buy shoes that are comfortable to work out in, not tight ones.
Wear soft, sweat socks that pull moisture away from the feet. If your feet get moist, they will blister easier.

Great advice MewElla. I mostly walk but am about to sign up for a water aerobics class that will meet twice weekly, in the evening. Used to do this years ago and really enjoyed it. I am looking forward to starting it up again. Hopefully I'll see some weight loss with this added activity. New Balance walking shoes have a wider toe box than some, they have worked out really well for me. I use the new tone/shape ones. Have a blessed day.

Thanks. Starts in August. I'm doing it with a neighbor friend. Will be nice to have each other to hold oneself accountable. I'll keep you posted.

i like to walk and use the pilates for exersise.i do half walking half pilates 5 days week 30 min a day.

Today my doctor gave me a unit, similar to what you see on tv for $19.95, that you pedal while you are sitting and watching tv or listening to music. It also has straps to use for the upper body to strengthen arms, shoulders, and back. Also, I can connect my stretch bands that I was pulling from an overhead rod for the neck and shoulder areas. This is for me to use when the days are either too extremely hot or cold. It does give me a good workout, because I can't walk fast enough to really get a good burn going. I hope this helps me continue losing weight.
