This is my first post, and I hope it meets community guidelines. Freestyle has an awesome program going right now. You can get a free meter, and they will pay a portion of the cost of your test strips (I dont remember the actual amount). If you will look up Freestyle on the net, you will find the offer.
I love my meter, and the strips. I have had no problems with it.
I also like the light on it, so you can see where you are putting the sample.

I like my meter too. I have the FreeStyle Lite and its really a good little meter. I have had no problems with it so far and I will check out their offer too.

Yes, I signed up for it. I think they pay up to $50 a month for the strips and I got a free meter. However when I tried the meter out I hated it. I was quite disappointed actually as I had high hopes for it. The strips are very fiddly, for some unknown reason they gave you options of where to apply the blood and made those sections black. This means you can never tell when you actually are filling the strip and only know when it gives you the result. I also didn't like the meter functions either. My to picks are the ultra line from one touch, ultrasmart being my choice, and the accu-chek aviva. Just depends on what functions you want from a meter. Check the reviews section out for some opinions.

I like the Aviva and my One Touch Mini for my purse. I have a pink one. LOL

I've used Freestyle for over a year and like it very much. I'm not sure why KD has problems with giving a blood sample. It takes very little and it beeps when you have got a sample and it is ready to calculate. My Freestyle is very accurate and I have checked against other meters. It takes one of the smallest samples. It really makes no difference other than you need to test.

I just don't care for the meter design or it's features. The meter I have is also not as accurate as my Aviva or UltraSmart when I tested them against lab results. The UltraSmart was closest and about 5 points off, the Aviva was out a little more, about 8, but the Freestyle was about 15 points off the lab result.

I agree with you. I love my freestyle. The best part of course is the small blood sample, but the other is the beeping when its done. Plus you can add more blood for up to 60 seconds if you don't get enough. This saves strips…they are expensive, but the same amount as the others on the market.

I typed in free glucose meter on yahoo, and the freestyle site was one of the first ones that popped up. Good Luck!
