I had bloodwork done this morning first thing and already have the results back! My A1c is down from 7.2 to 6.4! I'm very happy with that!

congrats!!!!!! I know mine was never above 6.0 and I know what hard work it is sence I had to help my mother with her's all the time but she after a short time told the DR to F off and she quit taking her meds and ended up blind, kidney failure, Neurapathy both hands feet and legs and partial amputation of her foot.

Congratulations! I had my 3 month follow up test last month and I was like a kid waiting on the results of finals exams at school! I too had good results so I understand how happy you are right now :)

My 3 month A1C was 5.6 and my dr says Im Diabetic. Im wondering if this is just a game because my mother was. My. blood sugar is never above 130 when I test. I think Im losing faith in my DR and think she is just saying this to make the money off it. Im not on meds but damn come on this is no joke and it isn't cheep. Congrats on your A1C keep up the work. With my issue can someone help me pls thanks

In late 2009 and all of 2010, my control got worse and my A1c's started climbing into the 7's after years in the 6's.. My PCP kept on upping my Lantus dose and told me to cut back on my meal-time Novolog. I never felt comfortable with this approach and finally asked him for a referral to an endocrinologist. I saw the endo last December and she has been a lifesaver! The endo reduced my Lantus from 20u to 14 u, changed it from a bedtime dose to a morning dose and is currently working with me to find the right carb to insulin ratio. We've discussed that an insulin pump may be the answer for me. Ditto on Gabby's advice to seek a second opinion. If you don't trust your doctor you won't buy into the treatment he/she prescribes…and, in the case of my PCP…he was just plain wrong.

thanks it looks like I will have to set an appointment with the University of Utah Medical center. They are treating a friend of mine as well and I believe that it is my best bet

I would go for a second opinion for sure. What kind of fasting numbers do you have? That can be key.

it depends I know that they are below 130 and this morning it was 106. I never see 130 at all 128 is the higest I see, and what gets me is I'll have greek yogurt and in 2 hours Im inthe 70's and even after a ham and cheese sandwich on wheat bread I'm only around 100 to 110 after 2 hours.

Mornings over 100 can be an indicator, but the fact that your other numbers are in the good range, is a puzzlement.

Thanks for the pats on the back everyone. I kinda needed that today. Feeling very cranky and hateful today for some reason…:oP Don't like me when I'm like this.

I am working on getting my A1c down to 7.0, which is where I am now since 17 April, 012. Have not had any bread, sweets, or white potoes.
