I have never heard of CF-related diabetes. How is that different? I am presuming that the CF means Cystic Fibrosis?

ya, for us, it is not if we get it, but when. CF related diabetes is neither type one or type 2, but a mix of both, and ONLY people with CF can get this type.

So it is a combination of a pancreas that is not working and resistance? Wow, that sounds very hard to manage. What do you do to keep your numbers in line?

It's actually not as hard as people think, I am just taking 12ui of Lantus in the mornings, and checking my lvls before a meal and 2hrs after. :) I do however have to watch my diet, like most diabetics.

Hello there … just a quick welcome to our website. I bought a Tru-Track meter from one of the drug stores and then found online a site that sells the strips for about 1/2 of the drug store brand strips. In fact I got the meter and 200 strips for around $50. I have heard good things about the Contour USB but I have a friend who wants me to teach her how to use the software. I haven't had the chance to look at it yet. How did you hear of us???

IF paying with cash check out www.healthwarehouse.com I get Breeze2 discs for 25.50 for 50 and I see lower prices for a lot of brands. I keep a backup supply. My INS also has a brand they prefer. There are a couple others on the internet and NO shipping charges. Hope you can get some help, I just learned Medicade and Medicare rarely approve more than 3 strips a day. Best wishes
