What is your lowest b/s that you ever had? Mine got so low that the paramedics could not get a reading. What has been your lowest.

The lowest I ever found was 51…that was terrible. I got up right away and made darned sure I ate a bunch of protein and orange juice…I knew a lady that was on insulin and she said one time right after she took her insulin hers came down to 30 or 33…she fell to her knees , crawled to her telephone, and called 911…ANNE

Believe it or not… I was in intensive care this time last year for 3 weeks when my blood sugar got down to seven (7). The doctors had never seen this before and didnt think I would make it… only by the grace of God I came through it. My kidneys took a big hit…but they are back to normal now! God is soooo Good!
Since then it goes from one extreme to the other both high and low. Controlling it is not so easy. I have to watch it real close checking it several times a day.

I can tell you that stress has a lot to do with it…although I do have some health issues which cause my blood sugar to be out of controll a lot… I believe that the stress I was under at that time took over.

So…Be careful…and keep an eye on it. Dont let it get too low! I can tell from experience that too low is so much worse than too high.

Take Care!
Becky

Amen Becky. Since I pstd that my b/s just got out of the hospital. Thank go a cop saw me in the middle of the street, and saw my medic alert bracelet. He called the paramedics and the er dox said that I came in w/a 10. Now my kidneys are walking a thin line. (Sorta speak) In other words, my kidneys now have to be watched more carefully.

Yes, even those of us who think we never have lows…I'm learning to never say never. I mean, I've said my husband can't walk more than 5 steps with a walker because he hasn't for 2 years and look where he went this weekend!

Have you been to the ER yet to get your eating problem looked at? I pray you have!

When the paramedics were called my b/s was at a 30. When they came in, they took my b/s reading and it was below 5. They stuck an IV into my foot to give me dextrose but when they got to the er my kidneys were shot, and I went into cardiac arrest. Thank god they were able to start my heart, and the er docs got my kidneys hooked up to a dyalasis machine. And I'm glad that I only came home with the memories of the story of that someone told to me.

My 1st iv was in my foot. then in my neck, in my chest. They couldn't find a vein cause mine had all collapsed. The RNs would find 1 & the minute they inserted the needle, it would burst like a balloon.

Ill even add my own 2 cents in. First time that it happened to me the paramedics had told the person that called them my sugar was too low for their meter to even read. And they took it after they parked their rig @ the hospital. So into the ER I went, then right into the ICU after the ER Dox did all they could.
