I never thought this would happen to me! I went walking a 5K with my friend, and we hadn't seen one another in YEARS. We talked and talked and talked, never paying attention if we tripped or anything, trying to catch up on so many years lost!
When I went to bed that night the sheet just touching my toe was so painful! I looked at it, and it was a little swollen (couldn't get my toe ring all the way off) but it didn't "feel" bad.
The next few days the nail started to turn purple! I showed this to my PCP, and he said that I have to be extremely careful with my feet, neuropathy has started, and to get to the podiatrist so he could re-confirm!
I know that this can be avoided, well I think there can be a way. I don't want to give up on my walking!
Any suggestions as to how to monitor things like this?
