Today as I was on my lunch break I was playing this little word game that I made up. Take a short sentence and see how many words you can make from it. As I was looking at the letters I had written, I noticed that parts of the letters were missing. An N would look like a V to me. Then as I was walking back out to customer service where I work things started to look fuzzy. So I go out to the car to check my sugar and sure enough it was only 68! By the time I got back inside the building and could get to some candy things were getting even more fuzzy and dark. It was really strange that only parts of letters were disappearing! Has anyone else ever had something like that happen?
On a positive note though, I received my free Bayer Contour meter in the mail yesterday. I got a postcard in the mail several weeks ago so I took advantage of it. Now I can have one for home and one for my purse!

I know my vision has been blurry when I am high as well. Just generally blurry, not missing any parts of letters or anything. Our brains don't work well in an unbalanced state.

I get hot really quickly, like a hot flash, when I start going below 60 - which is my first indication. But lord in this heat - I could just drop over. Glad you were able to get it up quickly. And to prove this condition effects everyone differently, 68 doesn't even bother me. Its not until I start getting under 60 when I feel the effects.

Normally 68 wouldn't have been a problem for me. Not sure why it was the other day. I'm thinking that it must have been dropping pretty quickly and gotten down even further before I could get back in the store and get hold of some candy.

My lows have ranged from the 60's to the high 20's. Not always, but at times, my vision was affected. It was as though I was seeing things like a movie projector that was occasionally skipping..(.you younger members might not have this as a frame of reference). Other times, my tongue and lips will get numb as though I've had a shot of novocaine. My meter goes with me wherever I go…I'd be lost without it!

I have been as low as 40, but I have never had that happen to me. That's wild!

Perhaps you might want to keep your glucometer with you in your purse. It might be better anyway because the heat isn't good for your glucometer or your testing strips if they get too hot, and then you don't have to trek to the car to test.

Thank the Lord that you were able to get your BG#s back up in time again.
