What size needle are you using? When I first started insulin they gave me this really thick gauge needles that were long. I did research on BD and asked for a 30 gauge short needle that worked much better. The larger the gauge no., the thinner the needle.

Hi have you ever tryed to inject in your outer thighs? This is where I choose to inject and I switch legs every day and I've had very little brusing and it is working out wonderfully for me! My stomache is waaay to tender and the thighs tolerate it much better! You can look it up online to show you the exact spots to use in the outer thighs. If you decide against the pump or have to wait for insurance approval, try out the thighs. Personally I don't think id want anything attatched to my stomache like that but lots of people love it! As for me I'm sticking with my shots for now. Do give it a try and see what you think of using your outer thigh.
