Hi everyone, I went to the dr. about the loss of weight but i don't need to lose weight i'm 6foot 3in 210 pounds. And she said i was losing muscle mass not weight because of the Diabetes. Has anyone else had this problem and what did you do about it. Thank you for any help you can give

Thanks for inviting me to your Discussion Bobby! There are myriad reasons you could be losing weight; Is your BS chronically high? This causes weight loss. Could you have gastroparesis or celiac? The first can make eating unpleasurable, among other things, and the second is an auto-immune response to gluten which causes malabsorption of nutrients. Hyperthyroidism can cause weight loss too. How did the Dr determine it was muscle and not fat youre losing? I agree with Harlen to speak with your Endo. Good luck and be sure to let us know the result!

Thank you for your reply.I'm not sure how she determined it that's just what she said because the sugars were out of control (a1c 11.7 ) It looks like i have a lot to talk about with the Endo. Thanks Bob

Are you still working out as much as you did before?
I woud talk to an Endo they will be much better informed then a reg Doc.
Best wishes
