Your liver will dump extra glucose into your system if you don't eat. You might need to eat a bedtime snack besides breakfast to help your BG levels. Some people have good results of lowering their AM BG by eating a graham cracker with peanut butter. I have a handful of almonds or a piece of string cheese. Sometimes I'll eat some apple slices with a little cheese. You may need to experiment and find out what works best for you.

Try eating a light snack before you go
During walking or exercise your muscles need more glucose so they send a signal for more energy which comes from the blood glucose or stored glycogen in your liver. As your body responds by releasing more glucose and without sufficient insulin, sometimes even walking will cause a rise in blood glucose levels.

I don't think something is wrong but yes you should eat before excersice. Most of the time exercise drops my sugar?? Are you taking pills or any treatment to control your numbers? Perhaps speak to your doctor about starting a treatment plan to help you lower your numbers. Remember damage can occur above 140. So I think it might be a good idea to speak to your doctor about perhaps adding pills to your treatment to help keep your numbers down. Sometimes in the mornings people have what's called the dawn effect and their numbers raise. Look it up and it will explain why much better than I can. But sometimes that happens. Maybe that could be what you are expirencing? ? Either way I would talk to my doc and let him know what your running. I am on two different insulins and I know my doctor wants me to inject my second insulin at 150. My doctor says diabetes can be a silent killer and damage can began to occur above 140. We won't see or feel the damage yet but it can be there and then that can lead to BIG problems. So my doctor is very agressive when it comes to keeping my numbers under control because he does not want any damage to happen. So id speak to your doc and see if he can help you with your numbers and treatment. Not everyone can control there diabetes with diet and exercise. I couldn't. I couldn't even control with pills I needed insulin. But most people control just fine with pills. I wish you the best and God bless
