Sorry it has taken so to get back to you. I went to my Dr and he said that when i did my fasting blood sugar withdrawl, my fasting sugar was 165. I had not eaten anything for 10 hrs before and that my A1C Level was at 10. So needless to say he put me on Levemir Flexpen twice a day along with Janumet(50-1000) and Amaryl (Glimepiride, 2 MG). I have been doing this regimine since May 27th. It took me a oment to come to grips with the fact that i had to take insulin. I was desperatley trying not to get on it. So far it has helped ALOT. The only part i hate is having to give it to myself. before insulin, my average sugars were between 230 and 315, now they have been averaging between 125 and 155, Which is way better than it had been. so ii just wanted to update.

Annie, this is a great improvement. I think that it proves that insulin really does help and is a treatment that more of us should look into. Doctors always use it as a threat because you "fail" to control with other treatments. That is not the case and so many of us would benefit from it. I am glad that you're doing better and I bet you see a HUGE improvement in your next A1c.
