I HAVE HAD 2 MAJOR SURGERIES AN SPENT A WEEK IN THE HOSP. BOTH TIMES AN FOR 3 DAYS I WAS A TYPE ONE, THEN MY BODY WENT BACK TO NORMAL. THE DOC SAID BODY SHOCK CAUSED THE PROBLEM, THEN AFTER THE SECOND ONE MY BODY WENT TO 235LB. AN I BECAME A 2, I HAVE LOST 20LB AN IT SEEMS TO BE HOLDING AT THAT. BUT MY BS IS STAYING DOWN WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM INSULIN.

It is never a bad thing to be at a healthy weight. It allows you to do more things, even if your sugars are not what you want. 60 pounds ago, I didn't want to exercise, now I actually like it. 60 pounds ago, I didn't want to do much but eat, work, eat and sleep. Now I am looking for new things to do and try. So yes, taking off the weight or maitaing a healthy weight is a great place to be. One less thing to worry about. One more thing you can share a triumph in.

I know of a woman who is as thin as a rail, and her sugars are always high. But, she is also a type A personallity. Very stresed out. many factors affect our sugars.

Yeah stress affects your sugar. It makes your liver put more in your bloodstream causing your sugar to go way up. I can tell if I had a stressful day even though I didn't realize it was that stressful. My sugar goes up!

Keep loosing weight. It's good for your well being. I was told I had type 2 diabetes in July and have lost about 16 lbs and already I feel alot better. I'm not as tired as I was in the past and I don't get winded as easily on long walks and the stairs at work. Keep up the good work. I can't wait until I can say I've lost over 50 lbs and kept it off for 2 years.

Hey Namvet,
Yes keep the weight off. The surgeries can have something to do with the sugars being high. it is called stress. I have had 6 surgeries in the last 12 mths and be frustrating to say the least have to keep a positive outlook! Your sugars will come back down..
