The website is called cosmeticdatabase.com, and I highly recommend that you all check it out. My mother was diagnosed with cervix cancer, and just had a radical hysterectomy, so she found that site to make healthier changes in her life, and now my wife and I use this site whenever we are looking for a healthier product. The rating system is a scale of 0-10 with 0 being no toxicity, and 10 being a major health concern. Many of the name brands are high toxicity including those really expensive items that you think would be better for you than the cheaper stuff, but it is not. The one problem with the healthier stuff is that it is hard to find in stores and can be expensive. I have found a few healthy products at Target, but most of the others I just order online. I do have to say that I have noticed positive changes in my children just weeks after having switched many of our products that were high on the toxicity scale to healthier products with 0's. We definitely have less temper tantrums from our 3 year old, so my guess is that it has to be the change in our products, as that has been the only changes we have had period.
Our next step is to start eating more organic foods. Organic fruits and veges, and some drinks are pretty easy to find, but does anyone know of any healthy organic brands that actually sell food that taste good? So far most of the organic things we have tried have been so bland and just plain awful. I definitely have been snacking less as I really have no interest in having that one extra bite…hmm, maybe organic food is the cure to over eating. Who wants to eat more cardboard? Not me.
