Sour,bitter and spicy food help lower sugar

Being diabetic for seven year`s.I`ve come to realize,certain foods that`s bitter,sour or spicy. Helps bring the sugar down.lemon and water you`ll be amaze what this could do before a meal.Pickles with some of it`s water,right after a meal that you shouldn`t be eating.Jerk chicken will even keep it down.

I read even a teaspoon of lemon or lime juice can decrease blood sugar, Lemon in water also acts as a diuretic, so IF you drink it a lot it may interfere with some medications…statins, and some water pills [Lasix/furosemide for one]. grapefruit also works but then again it interferes with statins and other medications.

That may be why I love hot food lol lol
I dont know if it makes my BS go lower or not but it is good lol

There's something to be said about a teaspoon of vinegar daily to help keep the BGL's down but it also causes heartburn ( at least for me).Cinnamon is also recommended,I tried the cinnamon capsules but they gave me heartburn too so I stopped using them tried dill pickles too,heartburn & irritated my urinal track.I know this sounds like a broken record but here it is again,diet,exercise & watching the carbs & sugars & everything in moderation is the best way I've found to keep my diabetes in chk..It will work for most people too if they just stick with a daily regime..

I knew I had a reason for likeing water with lemon, dill pickles, spicy foods, hot peppers, onions & garlic, and fresh herbs. Thank you for shareing. I'm glad to know that it's good for me.

i love the classen dill or garlic pickles. when i crave something sweet i eat a pickle amazing how it takes the crave for sugar away.
