trying to do better

I drink a lot of water,and some juice. I always check for the lowest sugar level in jiuces. I drink 15 milk an 1 ten ounce cup of coffee with splenda and fat free half and half every day. I bake whole wheat or bran muffins with splenda. I do not buy processed foods. My big problem is that when I am home I want to eat and eat. That is 1 reason I walk so much.

Wow, your doin' good. I get to drink oj only when I go real low on the BG and that's if it's in the fridge (that's rarely). I also can't eat wheat or grain, for some reason it spikes my BG big time. Also have two back injuries so can't exercise or walk more then a block. Good luck in the BG control!

If you feel that you are eating more than you should it could be that being home and doing the same thing ever day has food triggers set up. Try changing up the routine of your "every day". Maybe try setting specific times that you are "allowed" to eat certain meals. And if you get a notebook and log anything that crosses your lips (include the nutritional info and add it up as you note the food - don't wait until the end of the day to add it all up).

Sometimes it helps just to change up the daily routine.

As with your walking, you simply take one step at a time. I sounds like you have a pretty together plan for control and it's working. When I was diagnosed I was given the tips about taking baby steps and swapping so I have, over time, learned what works and what doesn't with trial and error. It's great to hear results from your plan. There's no harm in "trying to do better" because each day is a learning experience for our minds, bodies and souls. It is great to have you with us. Your sharing of determination is indeed one of motivation for us all. So glad to hear from you. Keep us posted!!!

Keep on doing what you are doing. It takes time to adjust everything and finding out what works for you can take a lot of experimenting. As long as your attitude is good, anything is possible.

I cant have anything with any kind of flour in it. My dr said no juice it goes straight to sugar in the blood it dont stop and absorb slow so be careful. something I found that is good is cabbage salad. Put your favorite vegies in it and add a little red wine vinager to tast and you can eat without worry. Keep up the good work.
