I love juice, orange, apple, grape, lemonade, limeade, whatever the kind it doesn't matter. Everytime I drink even just 4oz my BS goes sky high. Can someone suggest a certain type or brand that I could drink that doesn't shoot my BS up?

Sorry, but other than juicing veggies yourself it is always recommend that you eat the actual veggie or fruit because this way you get all the fiber which is the best part of the food for you. When you just drink the juice you are getting only the sugar which is never recommended for diabetics. Eat a small apple skin and all. If you insist on drinking juice mix it half and half with water. Water is the best beverage for you anyway. Good Luck

I've kind of cut most juices right out of the diet for me. I haven't had orange juice in foreveeeeeeeeer. You can have some but only a little and I heard it's best to cut it with some water. Tropicana makes 50/50 half sugar kind now, tastes just fine.

I try flavored mixes, Crystal Light, Wylers, Mio Liquid Enhancer etc. They do it well enough for me.

I like sobee flavored water. I also like to use my juicer to make fruit & veggie drinks and my blender to make smoothes. If certain fruits spike your blood sugar you might want to check with your Dr. and also ask him about a diabetic diatician or councler. I always keep a record of what effects my bs and what qty. I drink.
Best Wishes

I really like Healthy Balance. It's low carb and tasty. I prefer the grape but there are other flavors. Because of fiber contents, quite often fresh fruit has more to offer than bought juices. Let your taste buds and test buds tell you what's best because diabetes is, without question, a YOU-nique disease.

I like all the Diet juices from ocean spray, too…just like Graylin Bee…Pomgranite, grape, Cranberry, Blueberry grape..etc…I like them. I just checked for my husband since he is also getting off as much sugar as possible..all OJ ..even frozen has about 12 grams of Carbs. So, he is eating an orange in the morning instead of ounces of juice. More fiber with a real orange. Anyway, try Ocean Spray Diet..they do have "light" but has too many Carbs. :(

Try a Crystal light drink. They have some fruit flavors like Cherry Pomegranate that taste so delicious. Less than 1 Carb per serving and 0 sugars.

The juice I miss the most is blackcherry/grape juice. I tried some Ocean Spray Diet Cranberry Grape yesterday. It uses sucralose (Splenda).
A 12 oz bottle is 1 serving. Has 10 calories. 3 grams of carbs.
Tasted good, a little too much cranberry flavor for me. I drank maybe 1/4 of the bottle. Satsfied my juice craving. Saving the rest to turn into a slightly frozen drink whe the urge hits.
Maybe it would work for you.

when my wallet permits it, I drink "NAKED". It is full of veggies and fruits and my system is really energized when I do. I usually find it at Safeway when I'm in DC or Harris Teeter when I am NC. Give it a try.

I know how you feel, it is hard for me to drink juice too. I can drink less than 4 oz. of Trop50 which is low sugar. I really miss my juice, especially orange

Howdy Monica! WELCOME to DC!

I'm not certain of the carb content of grapefruit juice but here is a link for that:

But also be aware of this warning about grapefruit and its juice: So if you are on any medications at all, you need to talk with your pharmacist BEFORE you start drinking it.

Fruit juices in general have a higher carb content than the fruits themselves, since some of the carb load is offset by the fiber contained in the fruit. Fruit juices are better than regular soda because of the nutrients contained in the juice, but from a carb-load standpoint there is not a whole lot of difference.

I've just invited you to be my friend, plese do me the kindness of accepting.

Blessings to you and yours!

Really every type of juice is bad. It was a hard thing for me to give up as well. I drink sugar free kool aid. There is also minute maid lite lemonade. It has very few carbs.
