I was just reading about this therapy for neuropathy and was wondering if any of you have used it or know some one who has? It is an infrared therapy that increases the circulation in the affected areas and is said to have a very good result as far as decreasing neuropathy pain.

Hi Gabby,
When I first developed the tingling sensation and numbness feeling in my feet (early signs of neuropathy) I researched treatments hoping to find one that would slow down the progress of this common diabetes complication. I found a Physical Therapy practice that offered Anodyne Therapy and got approval from my health insurance carrier for 12 visits. I went twice a week for 6 weeks and each treatment, with the infrared light pads on my feet and lower legs, lasted about 1 hour.
I have no neuropathy pain so it was difficult to assess the effectiveness of the Anodyne Therapy. I felt no different after I finished the treatments. The tingling and numbness were still there The Physical Therapist told me that it works for some people and not for others.
I have been going for a Reflexology Massage once a month and that has been very good. As long as I can feel the hands of the massage therapist on my feet I know I haven't lost it completely :)

I have my hubby give me foot massages and it really helps. I also take Alpha Lipoic Acid and it also seems to be helping a lot. So I was wondering if this could be the final link for me.

Gabby, there's been little discussion on DC in the past about that. It seemed not to work for one who had the therapy:

Here's from the product reviews:

and here is a news article I submitted back in 2009 on it:

Only 1 person replied. That person said there was improvement using Anodyne. That person also said that Medicare no longer paid for treatments or for a machine.

Thanks for the links. I had never heard of it before and the site you gave is a lot the same as what I had read. But it had a link where I could ask for information on a home treatment kit. So I sent for that info to see what it says. Doesn't sound like something we should be doing at home....but I was curious.
