after i eat dinner maybe about 1-2 hours i start to get hungry . what can i do to full

-Drink water
-Have a healthy snack of vegetables, nuts, cheese or fruit
-Exercise. It will cut your appetite
-Cup of coffee sometimes will do the same
-Power through…sometimes you'll get hungry but after a few weeks/months your appetite will diminish

Ihave the same problembut I find mine is when everybody is in bed and I'm left on my own…so that makes me an emotional eater…I try(notice I said try) to stick with fruit…and if that doesn't help I will try distractions…like knitting, crochet and my crafts…but you reach a point where you can knit and eat at the same time…like at the end of a row etc…good luck and if you have any success…PLEASE…let us all know.

I know what you are talking about. I also have this problem. I try to eat low carb foods, fresh fruits, and things which are high in fiber(this helps you feel fuller longer). I try to eat just till I feel the hunger go away and not till I am stuffed. With the meds I am taking I have to eat so many carbs or my blood sugar will go up. I also have found in my case that if I eat a bowl of ceral before I go to bed that my blood sugar will be better in the morning. I can not say that it will work in others but it does work for me. The diabetic classes that I attended as well as the weight management all told me to eat six small meals and snacks so I wouldn't get hungry as often as I do. I have a problem with getting hungry at night after supper, at bedtime so I am not sure what to do but I eat some food with low carbs. I was told to eat like a mini candy bar or nutrigrain bar at night just before bed. That also will help not to have low sugars first thing in the morning or during the night.

When i am hungry , I drink a glass of water with lemon or orange slice. I have gout, reflux and hbp, so eating late at night , gets me sick and ill. So I stay away from pork rinds, crackers and some popcorn… you can eat a salad, veggies and jello with fruit… Just make sure your sugar isn't high though…:) Good Luck

Hi, I was having that problem also. I eat popcorn too… I also eat more small meals. No more big ones! I have noticed I sleep better, feel better and am not starving!!!! God Bless :)

Cut your meals to 6 small ones a day…also, about 3 hours before going to bed…have you a snack; such as, sugar free juice and fix a couple of graham crackers and peanut butter…and also, drink 2 bottles of water before you eat and afterwards…hope this helps…

Hi cupcake, I eat pork rinds or hot air popcorn before I go to bed. I tried not to eat to many pork rinds because of my high blood pressure. Don't forget the water..

I take my insulin in the evening & I always have a small snack before I go to bed. Be sure and eat soething before you go to bed, not a meal, but perhaps a small apple. I'm type 2 and you are supposed to eat between 15 and 25 grams of carbs every 3 to four hours. Only keep healthy things at home. My struggle right now is my whole life I have eaten strickly fresh fruit and veggies, but they just cut my hours back at work and now I just cannot afford to eat like I used to. It is showing up on my body & my sugar. If you can get just a little more exercise in than what you are presently doing that too helps. Good Luck

I've used fiber pills called WellbetX (PGX). I take one at breakfast & lunch and 2 before dinner. You can get them at any health food store. It's helped me when especially when I first cut down on the amount of food I was eating (portions, portions, portions!!) haha

Pork rinds, pork rinds, and more pork rinds. They have zero carbs and will not effect your blood sugar. I also eat string cheese.

Yes, I am a night eater as well. I get hungrier at dinner time then any other meal. So, the after dinner hunger gets to me as well! You're not alone! I fit protein and fiber and it satisfies me. I also exercise before dinner and that helps me as well, I don't get as hungry as I use to.

Ok I will let you in on what I do if I get hunger at night
I put two big spoon full's of fiber-all in a big glass of water and I tell you I am not hungery any more It works well

I also use Metamucil fiber therapy. It helps stop my cravings to eat at night.

Yes, Kimberly, I have eaten them, but they seem to raise my BG#s more than the liquid metamucil.

I haven't yet run a test on how much a serving raises my BG#s, but may soon, since you asked. You got me wondering.

Of course you know that what spikes me may not do the same for you, so you may need to do the test on yourself.

My metamucil is orange flavored. (kinda)

I did try a metamucil bar and I had a rise of 30 pts over my baseline reading. But reading the ingredient list, I was surprised it didn't go higher. It had types of sugar as the first and the 3rd or 4th ingredient.

I have IBS "A" (alternates slowly between constipation and Diarrhea) And I have been using the Metamucil for about 4 months now, and I now have normal BMs. I had only done it to fill my tummy, but this was a very pleasant side-effect.

celery, lettuce, cukes, gr. peppers, mushrooms, cauliflower & broccoli have almost no calories.
A sm tangerine, 1/2 cup watermelon, 1/4 of a cantaloupe, sm. tomato, med. carrot, 1 cup plain popcorn & 12 pretzel sticks have only 25-30 calories
adda low calorie dip for variety

Hi Edevel… I thought I was the only one on earth that got hungry a few hours after dinner… ((((hug to you )))) I make veggie smoothies…I was able to buy a strong blender and I will mix cucumbers, carrots,cellery , hand full of ice and spinage with sugsr free juice…I know this sounds gross but it really is good !
I dont taste the veggies at all…Stop by my house and i will have some ready for you ! Nice and cold ! Also sugar free chocolate helps.

Maui wisper, what brand is your blender? mine doesn't work that good, and my juicer finally died on its last leg. I loved my juicer, i didn't throw away the left over fiber. I would use it in my muffins, and it was soooo good.

Hi trudie,
I have a G E Blender…I got it from walmart ( where else? ) it was only like around $40.00. I never peel anything ! I blend the peels also ! The blender cuts them so good you don't see or taste them. I do wash everything really good but I never peel the cucumbers or carrots… I will make a gallon of juice ( or smoothie) for my daughter with Papaya, mango, banana, pineapple, and sneek some carrotts, and cuccumbers in it skin and all, and to this daay she does not know it. Oh one more thing… I had a magic bullet from T.V that works great also making the smoothie i make , but they dont last long…and they don't chop the ice…not worth the money. Ok I'LL go sit in the corner now and shut up… :)

Yes! The peels are where all the bioflavanoids are! It is excellent that you blend them too!!!!! I cant eat fruit-spikes me too much, so I eat just the peels!

Noooo!!! Don't go sit in the corner. You answered my question, and I am so thankful. I agree on washing & not peeling, the only thing I peel is oranges. I guess all small appliances are throw away now days, they just don't last as long as they used to.
You know some day your daughter will want your recipe for her juice drink. Wont she be surprised!! Hopefully she will fix it just like Mama did, and pass it on to her children.

the only blender that will last for ages is the kitchen aid brand..they have metal gears that don't wear out like the other brands that have plastic gears…I also have the blender from wal-mart and it crushes ice and it looks like snow and thanks for the idea of vegetable smoothies or juices..i need something to help me also..sometimes I think I could eat the living room furniture lol

Sure anytime !! No the smoothies I make taste like Cherrry, or strawberry or orange juice !! I buy the Walmart brand sugar free juice, it is so good !!
I always mix 2 different flavors together in a one gallon milk bottle, and just mix it with the veggies !! It will be thick but thats what you want. I sometimes make a few gallons of this so it ready when I want some. Its so good and filling !
I also buy Hunts sugar free choloate pudding…Yummy !

I eat a half a cup of cottage cheese. This seems to fill me up, and does not raise my Blood Sugars the next morning when I test.
