I recently started to use a pen I had stored in the refrigerator, clicked the amount I needed, pressed the button and nothing happened. I have now had 2 pens act defectively. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

All right folks, this is the way it is. I have been using Novolog and Lantus for a few years now. My drug provider sent too many. Yeah, they just love insurance! The vials have not been frozen just stting in the frig since December. Too late to return them since they only replace bad meds after 6 weeks. I did not know that when I called the place. Soooo…I am stuck with these pens. Who knows if they will work right with each injection or not. Thanks for all the replys though.

Did you try it right after you took it out of the fridge? I find that if I let mine set for awhile, then the pen works better for me. I haven't had my Novolog Flex Pen do that, but I have had my Imetrex do that. If it still doesn't work, try taking it to the pharmacy and see if they can get you a different pen. They do get samples from pharmacutical companies. Also, your doctor should have samples. I hope you can get some new ones. Take care and God bless.

if it was your very first time using this specific pen yu need to disgard 8 to 10 units then you dial up you recommended units and inject. If no insulin is coming out by that stage id go back to your pharmacy!

I use pens for both my insulin's, and have had only one be faulty, and I've been using them for four years. I love them! Be sure that the insulin hasn't frozen. If so discard the pen/vial.

I also found out it might need a different size pin needle.Because I got a different pin needle size by mistake and it works well with my lantus pen.

I had that happen. Well it happened with one pen. I took it back to my pharmacy and they replaced it. If your pharmacy won't help I'd call the company direct.
