Mother's Day that just past, my mother became a newly diagnosed member of the diabetes family. Mom's sugar was 1880. She was in a coma, but, came though with God's help. I am so worry about my mom. She was visiting my other siblings in Virginia and became ill. She live in New York. There so much to learn. She weak and her left side became damage due to the diabetes setback, prior to that she had a stroke in 2009 and this contribute to her left side becoming more damage. She so weak to take her insulin - she still in the hospital in VA. Only thing I am asking whoever reads this is to pray for my mother and family member who needs to learn so much from diabetes. I am praying to all people on the whole face of earth who has diabetes for God to bless you and take this away. My God be with all of ya'll… Love Nina

Nina, your mom is very fortunate to have a daughter like you. Being here and learning what you can is great and the support that you will find will help you through even the darkest times. We will be praying for your mom, for she certainly has an angel watching out for her. There is something left for her to do here that she survived such an event.

I would start with watching some videos on the basics of diabetes. Don't focus on the bad things of it right now. Just focus on the positive ways you can work with her.

I know it's all new, but write down even the smallest of questions. Ask the doctors there, the nurses, and anyone here. Then you will start to find what works for your mom and her situation. She will need you for a's okay to need us as you learn.

That is the equivalent of 104.44444 in the UK people here are admitted to hospital when it reaches around 30. How your mother is still alive with a reading of that level is beyond me but God must have been right there beside her protecting her in his loving arms. Prayers for your mother and the rest of the family that she pulls through ok. My thought are with you all at this difficult and stressful time. lol
