Everyone should get one. If you check some drug stores, they often offer them for free.

Hi All, I have been a type 1 diabetic for 37 years now, and had the flu once in that time. That was enough! I always get a flu shot now, and it usually doesn't even hurt! I think it's well worth it, for the protection!! I got mine at Albertson's already a couple weeks ago, and heard an ad that Safeway also has them, whenever the pharmacist is at the store. Albertson's was slightly less expensive. F.Y.I.

I haven't had mine yet but I see the Doctor and will get mine then. I take a flu shot every year and haven't had any reactions to them.

Lisa Ann,

Are you on insulin? I would hate to have a fear of needles and have to be on insulin. Well I am on insulin, but thank goodness needles don't bother me. My hubby is still having a hard time even being in the same room as me when I have to take my shots…hehehe…wusss!!!

No I just take a pill and check my sugar 2 times a day. In the morning when I wake up and 2 hours after my biggest meal(when I remember) I'm trying to control by diet and excerise. Not doing to bad.

This is a good subject for me. I have never had the flu bad yet, but I also haven't taken the flu shot either. This is my first winter with diabetes and I am still not sure whether or not I am going to take it.

I get a flu shot every year. Hopefully will be getting it on the 29th this month when I see the dr. for 3-mo check. He won't let me leave office without one!
