@Harlen, thanx I may need some motherly love. I tend to be a bit hard headed at times. But now I am getting on track with my meals I consume to even getting back into walking now. Now are you not proud of me? :)

Yes I have talked to my Dr.. He says until I lose a certain amount of weight I could come off the insulin. And I know I can, I did once before. I use to walk and I lost 132lbs. & that was @ my highest of 497. The thing is I'm not motivated. You think I would after having Respiratory failure @ the age of 35.

Have you spoken to your Dr about your desire to get off one or both meds?

Diabetes is not a one-size-fits-all condition. If it is possible at all, you generally have to control your diabetes very tightly.

I am trying to get off my insulin. Of course my insulin dose is quite low already.
I can keep my Blood glucose numbers in the "normal" range by eating a very restrictive meal plan, but when I deviate from that meal plan, I will have BG#s ranging between 150s to mid 200s. Then I gotta shoot up with the insulin.

I can stay on that restrictive meal plan only so long, (longest is 2 wks, so far) and then I fall off the wagon.

Blessings to you and yours Ash!
