I joined this community within the last few weeks, and have met a lot of people, and invited them to be my friends, and have over 300 friends, but, have only heard from the same handful, as far as posting discussions, recipes, news articles and more. And I am just wandering, Why we don't hear from the majority. Is it the discussions, are the not helpful? Or the recipes and other posts. Just ask or tell us how we can help, you that don't seem to be connected. Give US suggestions if you have some, we would like to hear them. We are all here for the same reason, so do not be afraid to ask for help.

I only check in here every few days or so because it's hard to keep up with so many communities, websites and blogs, plus I have my own blog to manage. When I've popped on here, the discussions I see don't always necessarily apply to me, or if they do, I don't have anything to add that someone else hasn't already said, as someone already said here. I don't look for recipes very often, and I never look on diabetes websites for recipes. Putting "diabetic" before cooking, recipes, cookbooks, etc. reminds me of the "diabetic" diet that was par for the course when I was a kid, and just leaves a bad taste in my mouth… so to speak.

When I read discussion I think it is open for comments. I like to get my two cents in.I guess we just have some members that had rather read.I read until I felt comfortable jumping in.

Most people will read but not post. Maybe they just don't have anything to add, they don't want to repeat something already posted or they are just not confident in their knowledge. At some point they will read something and will post or they will want to know something and will post a question. That's how most message boards are, you just have to look at the view counter of the posts to see that your replies are being read.
