The Summer issue of Diabetic Living Magazine brought a smile to my face for many reasons but one of them was because in the magazine is a photo of our own DC member, Melissa, whose pretty face was selected was selected to be in the "We're Living" section of this issue.

I always look forward to the magazine, a special interest publication from Better Homes & Gardens. I enjoy the tips and tricks, the recipes, the interviews, the book and product reviews, and so much more. I have to give thumbs up to Diabetic Living Magazine for so much of the information on diabetes that has helped changed my life … and my health.

The Summer edition features an article on rocker Bret Michaels, a thought-provoking story about sharing medical appointments with others and an few rather nice looking recipes that are less than 30 grams of carbs per serving along with some no-bake dessert recipes just perfect for summer.

You'll find an article on travel tips for diabetics, information on the new guidelines relating to flex spending accounts, and some simple exercises for two people to share. You will find information on some new and improved diabetes medications, reviews on various store-bought salad dressings, and did I mention the no-bake dessert recipes just perfect for summer? :)

You can find Diabetic Living at their website: www.diabeticlivingonline.com or by joining them on Facebook.

What are your favorite diabetes friendly publications???

I subscribe to several online magazines. I find I tend to read their newsletters more than sitting down with a magazine. I love magazines, but they usually sit unread for too long. I get this one and also Dlife that I find very informative.

Now about Melissa!! Way to go girl. I love it when we are out there in the community getting noticed.
