As the tittle says, I have good news today. I am part of the VA healthcare system, and I saw my doctors today.
I just had my gall bladder removed and while I am still recovering from the surgery done three weeks ago, I had what has to be the best overall checkup I have had in almost three years.
My blood sugar was good, VERY good. My a1c was 7.2, the best it has been in at least a coule of years. I've taken off about ten pounds so far, hoping to keep it up until I reach my goal.
I have had problems with very little stamina (getting tired very easy) and while I find that I am still weak from the surgery, my stammina is improving, and may in fact get back up to what is was when I was 49 and able to work a construction job digging ditches alongside guys in their 20's and 30's. (I am presantly 52) Aparently, that gal bladder of mine has been going bad for a while, and now that it is gone, my body should go back to "normal".
Any inputs from others is appreciated for continued success.
Vod bless and have a good one.

As it turns out, I am not quite as healed as I had hoped, as I am feeling lots of tenderness in my belly. I was told that the three weeks is an optimistic number, and in truth, I can realisticaly expect it to take more around six to eight weeks for healing, primarily due to the fact that I am a diabetic, and we just take longer to heal. BUT, I still feel VERY good, especialy considering how close I came to not making it.
I want to thank one and all for your kind remarks and good wishes, I very much appreciate it.

Congrats on the lower A1c. Three weeks is a short time out from surgery, It did seem to take me 2 months or more to get the stamina back leg surgeries. Which was just in time for the 3rd surgery, which had a longer bounce back time.
Once you are fully healed I bet you'll be amazed at how young you feel.
