Dr. Stephen Ponder is a type 1 diabetic, and has had diabetes for 44 years. He is an endo and a pediatrician. His articles are very, very good. I see his articles on Facebook and have befriended him there.

rich i had such joy in reading that articule.
I remember a few years just after i was dx. I always cosidered my dad the 'peerfect diabetic' he always tested his sugars, he always done his needles and he never abused his body with unhealthy food or alcohol. however there is no such thing as a perfect diabetic, i just wasnt taking care of myself like i should have been. But like Dr Stephen said we need to learn from our mistakes so they make us stronger. Diabetes care really is a proccess!!

Thanks a mill for posting this! x

That is so true! I just saw my cardiologist and have been worried about the effects of diabetes and RA on my heart. I kind of beat myself up for not having perfect blood sugar, cholesterol, etc. He patted me on the shoulder and said "you're doing the best you can, don't worry about it". I love doctors with compassion!

Just read this-it makes so much sense, especially since I'm mad today. Not at my ownself, but at something else going on that made me mad.
Very appropriate to read this.
Thanks you for posting the link!
