Negatives that are positive

One of the discussions got me to thinking about times people do things that are negative but turn out to have positive results. For eample, I was helping my wife back to our car when she was still able to walk. We were parked in a disabled spot and as we approached our car a woman yelled for a nearby policeman and said we should not be parking there as we weren't possibly disabled. As we were leaving my wife started laughing and thinking how great someone didn't see her obvious disbilities and thought she was "normal" like anyone else. Anyone else out there had experiences like this?

Well I guess each time someone says to me, "Gosh you dont look diabetic!" is a negative that I perceive as a positive. Im assuming they expect to me to have one of the visible complications associated with D and/or not to be slim and athletic. I try to do my part in showing the world that the persistent stereotypes of what D should look like are outdated!
