Hello everyone

my name is Dawn and I have been diagnosed with this and want to know if anyone else has this. Apparently, I have had this for a long time due to diabetes, and never knew it. It finally got the best of me when I couldn't walk at work, and my foot felt like someone was tightening a belt around the arch of my foot, well according to my podiatrist, the bones in my foot were ready to come through the bottom of my foot. Needless to say, between the pain and depression I experience highs and lows. My other half of 7 years doesn't understand that I can't walk as fast or as long and it really makes me nervous that he will leave. I really need a friend that I can talk to and this seems like a good forum to do that. Thanks for reading looking forward to talking to some of you.

Have you searched the discussions here. There was a discussion this past ebruary started by a member who has Charcot foot. Here is the link

I did a quick google search on the web and found a very informaitve article from AAFP, the American Family Practitioners. It mentioned treatments available depending what stage you are at to prevent further problems. What treatments are you using?

Here's the link to the AAFP article

Did your doctor discuss physical therapy and/or orthotics with you? I understand that these can be helpful in maintaining mobility. Good luck.
