sounds to me like all force was met with total lack of resistance. And, I further bet that she has grandad wrapped around her little fingers just like a puppet master.

Bill took me to Golden Correl for Easter Dinner on Sat. I started off with a plate full of Salad, Bill said that was probably all I would eat but no I also had a plate full of fish,a small helping of Bourbon Street chicken that only had 5 pieces of the Chicken in my serving spoon and 6 french fries they said was baked and then for desert I used a small dessert bowl and put in about 1/2 cup of banana pudding and one browny. When I checked my sugar that nite it had only gone up a total of 30 points all day. Not bad with only 2 pills now for my diabetes and no Insulin since Dec. I have also lost 20.2 pounds since Dec. if my sugar is not under better control by July 31st then go back on Lantus for bedtime only to start out and see where my sugars are in the AM.

Couldn't resist 3 red jelly beans during the kids Easter egg hunt frenzy. Made some lower carb malted milk balls to share that I indulged in but avoided all the other candies. This was my 2nd Peep free Easter.

You MADE lo carb malted milk balls? How'd ya do that? You have a recipe?

I have never liked peeps. You can have mine! LoL! I gave the remainder of my "Jelly belly" beans (in which I indulged on Good Fri night and ate half pound) to my son, to take over to his friends to get rid of. (Jon really shouldn't eat them all himself as his maternal g-ma had DM, his mom had gestational DM with every pregnancy, and his dad and uncle have DM too. What is more his FIL also has DM, but not Rosalie —- yet)

Thanks for the virtual Peeps. No BG spike at all.
Mine are lower carb compared to my favorites from Georgia Nut company in Skokie, Ill. Theirs 5 carbs per ball - mine 3.2 to 3.8 each depending on how malty I want them.
Just nuke 1/4 cup of your favorite semi sweet chocolate chips (Mine is nestle minis) takes 57 secson High. Stir in 2 Tbsp to 4 Tbsp malted milk powder (Carnation) and 1/4 cup ground almonds (or other ground nuts). Form into 16 balls. Pop into fridge or freezer to chill. I use an extra 1 to 2 Tbsp of almonds when using 2 to 3 Tbsp of malted milk powder.
For cashew clusters use 1/4 cup chocolate chips, 1 Tbsp malted milk powder(optional) and 1/4 to 1/3 c cashew pieces.

first time in a long time I didn't have a single piece of candy/chocolate from the easter bunny. At least until my BG dropped to <60 and I broke down and had a little pack of skittles…
Jelly beans got me sick one time when I was young and have never been able to eat them since!!!

Did you drop your BS so you can have a pice ???? I think I did that years ago lol
But it was bread that I craved so bad back then lol lol
Way to go I dont think I would be able to stop at one pice lol lol lol
Best wishes

no, I don't play that way. It's been hard enough getting my BS in line without intentionally overdosing…you'd think after 31 years I'd get the hang of this but still actually learning how to take care of myself. I recently (last week) discovered continuous glucose monitoring (I've resisted a pump so far) and all kinds of experiments are now possible!!!

Hey, Happy Easter!!! It doesn't and shouldn't matter what you have for holiday meals as long as you use your head in deciding what's right or wrong and it's the people around you, even if you're by yourself, that counts. This is our first holiday of not hosting dinner … just wife and I … to save time, money and energy. The ham is in the crockpot. We will make veggies. There's no temptations for sweets/sugar. All we need is each other … and a fork!!! Happy Easter, Harlen. Thanks for your contributions to this website … and to our hearts and lives!!!

HOPPY Easter, Buddy!!!

PS… I am dreaming of black licorice jelly beans and white chocolate bunny ears… but, only dreaming. For the love of God turn out the lights!!! :)
