What is that you might ask? Well, today it is called Good Friday but yesterday
it is called by us Bad Thursday.
We went in the car to a store in the neighborhood. At one point we stopped and had to wait to make a left turn. Suddenly there was a tremendous bang and both of us shot to the front in spite of having our seatbelts on followed by a great pain in the neck. I also experienced my hart acting up painfully.

A 17-year old girl just having been issued a driver license simply didn't stop and plowed in to us from the rear. (Yeah, of course.) We went to the hospital to get checked out in an ambulance and after some hours went home. my sugar went up to 15 moll and I had hard time to get it down again!
Would you believe that all my life I have never been in an accident but this sure got us with the back of the car very much demolished but her car totally flattened in the front part.

We kept shaking for a long time after! Will see a doctor again tomorrow and hope all is OK. Now you know how to go about raising your blood glucose… But we don't recommend it at all!

Yours tryly, JB.

Aches and pains always seem to come a day or two after. Maybe it takes the brain a couple of days to register what happened. When you drive your eyes have to be in the back of your head to. I feel sorry for you because it will be time out for something you didn't intend to happen. You have a job ahead to settle you claim. I hope it goes fast and you will enjoy life again.

Oh No, So sorry to hear about your accident. Thank God you had your seatbelts on..I don't want to think about how badly you could have been hurt. Hope you and Johanna don't have any repercussions from this and that the soreness and stress abate pretty quickly.

I'm sorry to hear about your accident. I hope that you are all OK. We are in the middle of Passover - I think the food is killing me!! So you answered a question that I asked somewhere else - still not sure how to communicate properly - that upsets can raise the blood sugar.

jayabee52 2011-04-23 00:39:53 -0500 Report

Yes, emotional upsets can raise your Blood Glucose numbers ("BG#s")

Bubbelove 2011-04-23 14:46:12 -0500 Report

Thank you for your reply. This explains why my BG goes up when I do not understand why. Of course the Passover holiday foods don't help either :-)

jayabee52 2011-04-23 15:03:47 -0500 Report

There's MANY things which adversely affects your BG#s, Fern. Surgeries and healing from surgeries, fighting infections (even ones you don't know you have), emotional upsets, hormonal fluxuations and on and on!
God's blessings to you and yours!

Glad you are okay, we don't want to loose you. Now did you tell that young whipper snapper how to drive?

How scarey for you. I pray nothing shows up tomorrow and that the cars got the worst of the collision. Please keep us posted.

Praise the Lord (who died for us all on Good Friday) that you were not seriously hurt! I pray that you will check out OK tomorrow too.

Yep JB it is raising your BG#s the HARD way!
