long trips

Recently on a 7 hour car trip I really screwed up my BG levels. Outside of eating what I have always considered a relatively healthy snack, hard pretzels, my eating did not seem to be too bad, but my BG was higher than ever. After the fact I read each pretzel was about 17g of carb, or 1 carb serving. So, I know that was at least part of my problem. My question is, have you come up with anything to eat while you are traveling, in you car, that doesn't blow your BG out of range?

Besides baby carrots I add cucumber slices, broccoli, and jicama. Also some almonds, or other favorite nuts for a little protein.

Actually when driving long trips I like to keep my BGs just under 140. That way I won't go low and endanger lives. It does take a while to bring them down again but its better being safe, IMO.

I like to snack on baby carrots when on long trips.

My problem is the highs. I got up to 398. Never been that high. (Well, maybe back in college when I might have inhaled!)
