Well, after a year of submitting myself to the dreaded injects, I have joined The Society of Pumpers. I couldn't be happier.

After one week of doing the practice routine of pumping and filling cartidges with saline, I am on my first full day of pumping. What a difference! When filling my cartidge with insulin for the first time I forgot to Rewind the pump so when I primed, I sprayed insulin all over the place. Naturally this was in front of my educator. Of course, I sprayed her!

I was really concerned about the pain factor when hooking up the Infusion Set. But, surprise, absoultly no pain. I know that I have a lot to learn however, I already am pleased with the decission that I made to become a pumper. I love the Carb Counting program and my Remote Control.

By the way I am using a One Touch Ping System. The color screen on the pump makes it very easy to read. I do wish the Meter/Remote had a color screen.

I would be interested in talking with anyone else who is using the Ping.

I am not familiar with the Ping, but my daughter is on the minimed pump, and we are still sort of Rookies at it (8-08) She is already a pro and tells me she can do everything but setting the site. Welcome to this community-everyone here is wonderful and eager to share and be supportive-Also congrats on the pump!!
