Sourdough bread

Does anyone know about thr good/bad points of sourdough bread. I read somewhere (can't remember where) that it is supposed to be better for us than regular bread. I bought some yesterday at the instore bakery and it has 24g carbs for half a round loaf, which is certainly better than 15g for whole wheat or 20-22g for the multi-grain types for a single slice. It worked out to just under 4g per slice and it tasted good, especially toasted. Carol
