Ok gang. another sugar holiday is upon us! What do you do to not succomb to these candy or chocolate easter treats, hot cross buns and other high carb foods, etc Especially those of us with non- diabetic kids and husbands who get baskets full of these "time bombs". I can't alway ask people to give up their sweet things for me.
Also just eating out of boredom or nervousness or whatever what do you do to take your mind off of it? . I try to do things that I enjoy like gardening etc doesn't always work—HELP!!!!!!

Try to keep healthy snacks in the house just for you. If sweets aren't here, then I don't have the urge to eat them

Don't bring the stuff in the house to begin with and there is no temptation. If you
need something sweet purchase sugar free. Most companies now have sugar free
candy, cookies, ice cream and so forth. You still need to watch the carbs. Some
diabetics are allergic to various sweeteners so be careful. I don't bring it into my
home so there is no temptation.

I come here! This saves me from the march to the frige out of boredom. As for the basket, I don't have kids, so I don't have any excuse to have it in the house. I did eat some sugar free jelly bellies the other day and it was a small packet. So that was a nice treat and got the "easter monster" out of my head.
