I have found it so difficult to lose any weight. I have been the same weight for 10 years which would be good if I was slim. But I am not.
I try to count carbs, and have tried to add more veggies, but all the veggies I like are high in vitamin K and doctor says no. I have been on warfarin (blood thinner) for 4 years. Anybody have any great tips for losing weight.

Hi Edvel54
Hi my name is Penny I don't know much about you. but I have been over weight all mylife it's been a yoyo for the last 34 years I have been between 300 and 203. Up intill around 3 years ago I was 208 but then the doctors started changeing my meds and I went up to 275 I was getting sick vomiting, deprees my bones were hurting more and more all the time.
I start noticeing which one that were making me change my husband keep on telling what is going on you are putting on to much weight and I kept on telling him so it's my body.
That's how bad I got I didn't care intill I got decussed looking at myself in the miorr and I realy couldn't enjoy my grandchildren that I love so much.
But what hut the most my husband stop being intament with me and I couldn't take that any more so. I started looking at myself you did this to yourself.
Now you have to get yourself out. I started out with (WALK AWAY THE POUNDS) by: Leslie Sansone and then I started to cut back on alot of what I was eatting I wasn't paying much to the calorires yet and little by little I started to by more of her dvd and book I don't know where you live but I would go to Ross and by my exercise equipment and went back to the gym and water arobice which I love and now I am down to 214 starting sence last I want to say Aug.
You can do it if you want to It's not easy belive me but you can it's even harder to keep it off. The last time I kept it off for 25 years so it is doabole just have faith in yourself and get your family to give you all the suppourt you need and you have your sceond family from here to give you have the help you need. Take care Penny

In Aug. of 2010, after a doctor's visit. I was told that I needed to lose weight. I am 5'8" male and at that time my weight was 215 lbs. Through a combination fo diet and exercise, I lowered my weight to 155 lbs, and I did it in six months. What I mean by changing my diet isn't just cutting back on calories but eating the right kinds of food, and getting proper nutrician. I also exercise daily by power walking 4.2 miles in less than an hour. Not only did I loose the weight, but my blood sugar dropped from 250mg/dl to 97 mg/dl, triclyrites went for 1064 to 60, Cholestoral went from 272 to 131 with HDL at 52, and LDL at 31. My A1C went from 11.4 to 5.7, and blood pressure from 157/108 to 123/68. Sometime its a chore, because of all the meal planning, and getting up early to walk when I'd rather sleep in, but the results were worth it. It has become part of my daily routine.

I was told there are 3500 calories in a pound. So that is what I need to cut out of my diet, or exercise to burn the calories) the quicker I do the quicker I'll lose the weight (I've lost 30 lbs). for me I wrote everything down just to realize how much junk I ate, wrote down everthing. I've gained some over winter, I feel it as I begin to exercise again. but it helps so much with my diabetes numbers. So I know I'll be more serious about it & i'll start soon.

it really worked, I've never been able to lose that kind of weight before. I started at 250 and now I'm 223. All I did was walk around the development (approx 1 mile), lots of water, whole grains to make me feel full longer. I also did what they said about portion sizes & snacking every few hours. it made me feel like I was cheating, but I found healthy foods I like, for instance, carrots with blue cheese or ranch dressing.

Do you realize how many carots you can eat??? 1 cup of carrots equals 42 calories!!!! I can eat a whole bag & be ok, plus the fiber keeps me full longer. I learned that real food has very little calories, it's the junk snacks like a candy bar or something that can really add up fast. I ate diet jello, that's sweet & has little calories or carbs.

Best wishes

I try to exercise daily, ir is hard at times. I walk, water aerobics. stationary bike.
I have to find exercise where I don't have to get on the floor. I have had dual knee replacement and shoulder repair recently. If I fall, I can't get up.
