My husband has been working for United telephone/Sprint/now Embarq for 20 years this past summer, and now we are very worried because they may be forced to a lay off if no one takes and early retirement.
We have always paid for the best insurance, because of my illnesses, and the kids, so we had the best coverage. But we live from month to month like everybody else, and have NO savings. We will be losing our insurance and are not eligible for medicare yet. What do we do? About our Medications and Supplies? I am so stressed and worried, and I do not know what to do. It is hard enough to buy food, and house 4 people, but what about medication? Neither one of us can afford to not take our meds. I have finely found meds that work, after 30 years of different kinds, tried, but no good. It has only been a year that I found a combination that works. I know, because I had not even driven for all those years because of the mental condition I was in, and now I drive myself where I need to go.
Not to mention how well Jim is doing with his meds, and treatment, and what about doctors. Please tell me, He will make too much money for medicaid or any kind of state assistance, so that is out.

Also make sure to check out Wal Mart, Kroger and Wal greens 4 dollar meds. Plus WalGreens has some kind of new program about 90 day supply. Also I know Wal greens you can get a weeks supply at a time if you cannot do it all at once. Good Luck to you. And yes it is PPA Montel williams does.

It is sad to here that other people can't afford their med's either.Sometimes I have to prioritize my meds.-which ones to get, and what can wait.

I have seen the commercial but it has been a while; if nobody has information on reaching him, I would like to know how I can in touch with the program. Or the name of it.

HI Do you ever see that commercial with Montel Williams? I called and now I get several meds free and I also have a couple of discount cards. There is lots of help there if you don't have insurance. They go by how many is in the family but trust me they have been a lifesaver…then with some drugs that are $4 it sure helps. Also don't forget to ask your doc…they have lots of medicine they can give away…just say you don't have ins. Most will give you what they can. But when I called it was real simple. Just filling out some paperwork. I have my asthma medicine delivered right to my door…and it's about $180 a bottle and I don't pay anything. Good thing cause now my income is down to about nothing much.Trying to see about SSI but last month I had alittle too much so now I can try. Good luck, but make that call. I think it is PPA something like that. I wish I had it right here. Or just contact the company that makes your different meds and ask if you can get help.

Ask your doctor about getting help with the meds My daughter is on a program that she receives her meds for free. Plus there is medication makers that offer discounts on meds. Plus I get samples for one of my meds from the Doctor because it works and my insurance will not pay for it. There is the program PPA that Montel Williams does the commercial for that helps with meds. There are programs out there.
